The only way to see Rhythm And Poetry (RAP) is the contents provided in every sense of it. Rap Music is a delicate and sensitive genre of music because it involves a high level of intellectuals.

This is not because it is difficult but because there is a whole lot of twist surrounding the spectacular genre. This is one of the genre of music that requires a great deal of real talent to keep up.

This Rap genre of music came to Africa in the 80s and the acceptance has been massive. We have seen so many artiste come and go in the rap scene.

After practicing Law for he few years, he eventually left the bar for focus on his passion.

Collaborating with Yemi Alade, he created the song Marry Me and won Nigeria Entertainment Awards for “The Best Collaboration of the Year.” He was also nominated for the “Best Rap Act of the Year” and “Best New Act to Watch” categories at the same event. Falz says the one may call his music “Wahzup music.”

Olanrewaju Ogunmefun, better known by his stage name Vector, is a Nigerian rapper and songwriter. He has released three studio albums, including State of Surprise and The Second Coming (2012). Vector made number 5 on our list of top 10 best rappers in Africa.

Vector is one rapper with a deep flow that will leave you breathless. The first thing that comes to mind when Vectors name is mentioned is Rap. With songs like “kilode” “Maryjane” “Where is Vector” and the monster hit (King Kong) gave him the ‘lyricist on the roll’ award at the Headies award.

In 2014, he established his own record label, Family Tree Records. Nyovest rose to fame with the release of his debut studio album, Tsholofelo (2014) which produced the successful singles “Gusheshe” and “Doc Shebeleza”.

In 2015, Sarkodie was ranked the 19th most Influential Ghanaian by e.tv Ghana. He is considered one of the major proponents of the Azonto genre and dance. Sarkodie is often named as one of Africa’s greatest hip hop artists.

MTV Base ranked him 6th on its list of the Hottest African MC’s in 2014. In 2013, Lynx TV ranked him 1st on its list of the “Top 10 Ghanaian Rappers of All Time”.

In 2015, AfricaRanking.com ranked him 3rd on its list of the “Top 10 African Rappers of 2015”. In 2015, The Guardian listed him as one of its top five hip hop acts on the African continent. This man has grown with time to become a living legend.

2. Jude (MI) Abaga. {Nigeria}

Jude Abaga, better known as M.I Abaga, is a Nigerian hip hop recording artist and record producer. He is the CEO of Chocolate City. MI made number 2 on our list of top 10 best rappers in Africa.

He won Best Hip Hop and Best New Act at the 2009 MTV Africa Music Awards, and was nominated in the Best International Act category at the BET Awards 2010. He rose to prominence in 2006 when his song “Crowd Mentality” became popular in his hometown of Jos.

His critically-acclaimed debut studio album Talk About It was released on 11 December 2008. The LP was succeeded by MI 2: The Movie (2010). Four years after that, he released The Chairman as his third studio album. M.I Abaga released the playlist Rendezvous in February 2018.

In August of the same year, he released his fourth studio album A Study On Self Worth: Yxng Dxnzl. He is known to be the King of rap in Nigeria.

Nsikayesizwe David Junior Ngcobo, better known by his stage name Nasty C, is a South African rapper, songwriter and record producer. The young lad is adjudged to be the most consistent rap artiste on the continent. Nasty C stands tall at number 1 on our list of top 10 best rappers in Africa.

There is never any song from Nasty C, that sounds different from the genre he is known for. You may sometime mistake this kid for an international artiste, with the way his music sound so exceptional.

While trying to rank these great list of African rappers i was thinking of making Nasty C number one. To my greatest shock, my search for the best rapper in Africa; you will only see one man on the top of every list and his name is Nasty C.
