Queen of Afro pop and Universal Music act, Tiwa Savage, just recently gave the explanation to her 2019 debut single “49-99“.
The singer who also revealed the song was written and created by Olamide and Pheelz, gave the meaning of the song in an interview with Factory78.
According to her the word “49-99“, originated from Afro-beat legend, Fela Kuti meaning ‘49 sitting and 99 standing‘, which was and still the situation of the country, most especially Lagos state.
